Review: Arteza Premium Gouache, 12ml tubes - set of 60

Hi everybody!

Arteza was kind enough to send me their Premium Gouache set of 60 to test out and review. This is basically all the colours they have, available in one box. Each tube contains 12 ml of paint, which I can say is quite generous for a price of $39.99, (working to about $0.67 per tube). The colour range for this set is quite good but I would like to see more shades of brown.

I made a colour chart and an illustration using the gouache paint I have to say I was impressed. The colours are vibrant, very opaque, creamy and smooth. They also blended very well with each other when I mixed them. When using them watered down, they still maintained their smoothness and vibrancy. I didn't really have any issue with any of them. I also love that they included 12 different pearlescent shades in the set making the colour choices very varied.

I found when I let the paint dry on my palette and used them a few days later, they reactivated very well, maintaining their vibrancy and smoothness. Some colours cracked a little bit but they were fine once reactivated with water.

In conclusion, these paints are good quality and value. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros

- They are very vibrant.

- They are good value.

- They reactivate well when dry.

- They have 12 different pearlescent shades included in the set.

Cons

- I would like to see more shades of brown in the set.
